Certero 8.8 Release Introduces Enhanced macOS Installer, Nutanix Support,
and Major App Monitoring Improvements
Certero has officially launched version 8.8 of its IT Asset Management platform, bringing new features, performance enhancements, and critical fixes to improve user experience.
Key highlights include:
• New macOS Client Agent Installer – The client now uses a notarized .pkg installer and supports Universal Binary, replacing the previous .dmg format for smoother deployments across Mac environments. Deployment tools may need updating.
• Dashboard Enhancement – Users can now add a Report List widget to dashboards, providing quick visibility into saved reports.
• Enterprise ITAM Update – A new Nutanix Virtualization Connector has been added, offering fresh insights via newly supported data grids.
• Network Discovery – Now supports SNMP v3 authentication, improving secure access and device identification.
• Application Monitoring Overhaul – The module sees significant upgrades:
o New File-Based Metering automatically captures executable usage.
o Usage charts now show 90-day histories.
o Adobe Creative Cloud usage is now tracked.
o Enhanced reporting and Dynamic Group capabilities.
Important note for Application Monitoring users:
Installing this update will reset all existing Apps Monitor data. Usage tracking will resume automatically, but reports and dashboards may need reconfiguration.
